The prayer I lean into the most in life is the Hail Mary. I say it at the end of my bed time prayers and when I need some extra support and help in life. The Blessed Virgin Mother is very special to me as we share the same birthday – September 8th and because I don’t recall a day going by where my Aunt Mary wasn’t saying the Rosary (https://www.usccb.org/how-to-pray-the-rosary).
The confidence that each person should have in Mary was expressed by Pope Pius IX in the encyclical Ubipriinum : “The foundation of all our confidence. . . is found in the Blessed Virgin Mary. For God has committed to Mary the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation. For this is his will, that we obtain everything through Mary.” (Reference: https://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=4967)
Hail Mary is a very simple prayer – hope and grace:
Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death
Amen.
